Discharge cover studs and nuts, suction cover studs, cartridge tie bolts, gland studs, bearing housing bolts, ring-joint flange studs, hold-down and anchor bolts, made in Houston to your drawings and specifications.
A 4 × 6 ten-stage API 610 type BB5 double-casing (barrel) pump, the kind used for boiler feed, water injection and hydrocracker charge, with a 6-inch Class 900 suction and a 4-inch Class 2500 discharge, both ring joint. It comes apart the way a shop pulls a cartridge: coupling spacer out, balance line off, bearing housings and seals off the shaft, then the big discharge cover nuts spin off, the cover is drawn, and the inner cartridge slides out through the stud ring while the barrel stays in the piping. The cartridge is then opened up stage by stage, and the nozzle flanges, suction cover, hold-down bolts and anchor nuts come off last. The bolting we make is in colour. Press Solid view for a steel model, or Cutaway to see the stage pieces, impellers, balance drum, seals and bearings inside.
The ring of large studs that holds the discharge cover (head) on the barrel. The studs stay in the barrel; the nuts come off to draw the cover and pull the cartridge. Often tightened with hydraulic tensioners.
Four studs per seal chamber (API 610), holding each cartridge seal's gland plate to its cover.
Hold each bearing housing bracket to its cover.
Along the horizontal split of each bearing housing and round its end cover, for access to the journal and tilting-pad thrust bearings.
Clamp the stack of stage pieces between the suction piece and the end plate, so the cartridge handles as one unit.
Eight 7/8 in. studs on a 6-1/2 in. bolt circle at each ring-joint flange (ASME B16.5 Class 900, NPS 2).
Eight 1-1/2 in. studs, 10-1/4 in. long, on a 10-3/4 in. bolt circle (ASME B16.5 Class 2500, NPS 4, ring joint R38), each with two heavy hex nuts.
Twelve 1-1/8 in. studs, 7-3/4 in. long, on a 12-1/2 in. bolt circle (ASME B16.5 Class 900, NPS 6, ring joint R45), each with two heavy hex nuts.
Two through each of the barrel's four centreline feet into the pedestals.
Cast into the foundation, with a nut and washer on the baseplate flange.
Hold the suction-end cover and its seal chamber on the drive end of the barrel.
Eight at each end of the spacer coupling. With them out the spacer lifts clear and the driver stays put.

The nozzle and balance line flanges, their studs and ring gaskets follow ASME B16.5 and B16.20; the double-casing layout, centreline support, studded main joint and four gland studs per seal follow API 610. The barrel, covers, cartridge, impellers, seals, bearing housings, coupling, driver, pedestals and baseplate are illustrative typical proportions, and the cover, tie-bolt, gland, bearing, coupling, hold-down and anchor bolt counts and sizes are typical. Your drawings govern. We manufacture to your drawings and specifications.
Drawn to ASME B16.5 (ring-joint nozzle and balance line flanges and their studs), ASME B16.20 (ring gaskets) and the API 610 type BB5 layout (radially split double casing, centreline support, studs on the main casing joint, four gland studs per seal chamber).
