A 13-5/8 inch, 10,000 psi surface blowout preventer stack, taken apart from the top down in the order a fitter works: at each joint the nuts spin off first, then the joint opens and the ring gasket comes out. The bell nipple lifts off, then the annular's head and packing element, the annular and the double ram preventer. The ram bonnets open sideways once their bolts are out, the choke and kill valves come off the drilling spool, and the spool lifts off the wellhead. The bolting we make is in colour. Sixteen 1-5/8 in. tap-end studs on a 23-1/4 in. bolt circle in the annular's studded 13-5/8 in. 5,000 psi top, a nut on each, holding the bell nipple on over a BX-160 ring gasket.
