A skid-mounted 3-1/16 in. 10,000 psi choke and kill manifold for drilling well control: a five-way inlet block with its gauge flange, a header of studded crosses and tees with target flanges at the turns, three choke legs (one hydraulic drilling choke, two manual adjustable chokes) with a gate valve upstream and downstream of each, a straight-through bleed line, and a 5,000 psi buffer chamber with outlets to the mud-gas separator, the pit and the flare. It comes apart the way a shop strips it for recertification: gauge and target flanges first, the U-bolts, then joint by joint along the legs. At each joint the nuts spin off, the joint opens and the ring gasket floats in the gap. The buffer chamber, the header, the bonnets and the skid follow. The bolting we make is in colour. Eight 1 in. × 6-3/4 in. studs on an 8-1/2 in. bolt circle at each 3-1/16 in. 10,000 psi Type 6BX flange-to-flange connection: valve to choke, along the bleed line and into the buffer chamber, each over a BX-154 ring gasket.
Eight 1 in. tap-end studs in each face of the studded crosses, tees, the five-way inlet block and the elbow blocks under the chokes.

Drawn to API Specification 6A: Type 6BX flanges and studs in 3-1/16 and 2-1/16 in. 10,000 psi with BX-154 and BX-152 ring gaskets, Type 6B flanges in 4-1/16 in. 5,000 psi with R-39 ring gaskets, and the 3-1/16 in. 10,000 psi gate valve face-to-face length. The arrangement follows common practice for API Specification 16C choke and kill equipment.
