Basin anchor bolts, stainless structural bolts, distribution flange studs, fan deck and fan stack bolting, gear reducer, motor and coupling bolts, hub and blade clamp bolts, made in Houston to your drawings and specifications.
One cell of an induced-draft, counterflow cooling tower, the field-erected kind that cools the circulating water for power, process and data center cooling plant: 36 ft square on a pultruded FRP frame, with a 24 ft fan in a 10 ft fan stack, a gear reducer and a 150 hp motor on a torque tube, and a 24 in. hot-water header. It comes apart the way a crew strips a cell at an outage, top down: the fan stack segments unbolt and lift away, the blades slide out of the hub, the hub lifts off the fan shaft, the driveshaft comes out, the gear reducer and motor come off the torque tube, the torque tube and the fan deck lift, the casing comes away and the header flanges part, and last the structural bolts back out and the frame lifts off its anchor bolts. The nuts spin off before each joint opens. Every bolt, stud and nut we make is in colour. Press Solid view for a model in its real materials, or Cutaway to see the fan in its stack, the drift eliminators, the distribution header and the fill inside.
Two per column, one through each stainless anchor clip, holding the FRP frame down to the concrete basin floor. Cast in with the basin, or post-installed epoxy or wedge anchors on a rebuild.
Through-bolts at every girt-to-column joint, both ends of every diagonal and through each pair of anchor clips: 1/2 in. full-shank Type 304 or 316 stainless on FRP towers (galvanized on steel towers), often sleeved to spread the bearing load.
Join the inlet riser to the hot-water header and the header's spools to each other: twenty 1-1/4 in. studs at each flange on a 29-1/2 in. bolt circle (drilled to ASME B16.5 Class 150, NPS 24), with two nuts and two washers each.
Hold the FRP deck panels down to the deck girts at every panel joint.
Up each vertical seam of the segmented FRP stack, round the joint between its two tiers and through the base flange into the deck.
Clamp the torque tube's saddles down onto the deck framing, four through each saddle to a backing plate under the girts.
Four 1-1/4 in. bolts hold the right-angle gear reducer down on its platform against fan weight, thrust and torque.
Four 3/4 in. bolts through the feet of the 445T-frame motor, outside the stack, with shims to align it to the driveshaft.
Eight each end, clamping the flexible elements between the coupling hubs and the driveshaft tube flanges.
Sixteen 5/8 in. cap screws join the hub plates to the hub spool and three more pull the tapered bushing into the spool to grip the fan shaft.
Four 3/4-10 × 10 in. bolts per blade through both hub plates and the clamp halves round each blade's neck; smaller fans use U-bolts.

Request a quote832-446-3442A generic 36 ft cell, not any maker's design. The header flange drilling follows ASME B16.5 Class 150 and the motor feet NEMA MG 1; the fan hub hardware, the gear reducer's base and the driveshaft couplings follow makers' published figures for this size; the column, girt and structural bolt sizes follow a published tower specification. The levels, diagonals, anchor clips, fan stack, deck, torque tube saddles and the other bolt sizes and counts are illustrative and typical. Your drawings govern. We manufacture to your drawings and specifications.
Drawn to ASME B16.5 (Class 150 flange drilling, NPS 24), NEMA MG 1 (445T motor frame), and published specifications and makers' manuals for field-erected FRP counterflow towers, their fans, gear reducers and driveshafts; CTI STD-137 covers the pultruded FRP sections.
