Leg splice and gusset bolts, crown and water table bolting, base shoe bolts, substructure pins and keepers, made in Houston to your drawings and specifications.
A land drilling rig structure: a 136 ft bolted four-leg standard derrick with a 30 ft base square, in the 1,000,000 lb hook load class, standing on a 25 ft box-on-box substructure on mats. It comes apart as a rig-down. The guy lines are unpinned and the travelling block is lowered and taken out through the V-door; the bearing cap bolts come out and the crown sheaves are lifted; the gin pole, crown beams and water table are unbolted; the ladder and monkey board come off; then the derrick comes down a section at a time, with the brace and girt nuts spun off, the girts and braces drawn off their gussets, the leg splices opened and each section lifted. Last, the base shoes are unbolted, the rotary beams come out, and the substructure boxes are unpinned and parted. The bolting and pins we make are in colour. Press Solid view for a steel model. There is no cutaway: the rig is open steelwork and every joint already shows.
1 in. heavy hex structural bolts to ASTM F3125 Grade A325 or A490, with A563 DH nuts and F436 hardened washers, in 1-1/8 in. standard holes. A splice plate on each flange of the leg angle, sixteen bolts per splice, three splices per leg shown; the count is typical.
3/4 in. heavy hex structural bolts in 13/16 in. holes: the gusset to the leg, the girt and the two diagonal braces to the gusset at every panel point, and one bolt with a spacer where each pair of braces cross. 775 on this derrick; patterns and counts are typical.
Four bolts through the base shoe plate at the foot of each leg into its seat on the substructure. 1-1/4 in. shown; size and grade follow the derrick drawing.
A forged eye bolt with nut and washer in each deadman anchor bracket, and a machined clevis pin at each end of each guy line. Four guy lines shown; sizes are illustrative.
Four bolts hold the bearing cap over each end of the crown sheave shaft. 1-1/4 in. shown; size, grade and count follow the crown block drawing.
Four 1 in. structural bolts where each crown beam crosses a water table beam, sixteen in all, flange to flange.
Four 1 in. bolts at each corner of the water table down to the cap plate on the derrick leg, and four 3/4 in. bolts through the base plate of each gin pole post.
3/4 in. bolts through the girt flange for the monkey board hangers and knee braces, and a pair of 5/8 in. bolts (ASTM A307 typical) at every girt for the ladder brackets.
Machined pins through lug and clevis plates join the upper boxes to the lower boxes and the spreaders to the boxes. Each has a keeper plate and a keeper bolt. 3 in. pins and 3/4 in. keeper bolts shown; sixteen joints shown.
Four bolts at each end of each rotary beam, down through the beam flange into a seat on the substructure box. 1-1/4 in. shown.
Six bolts through the base of the deadline anchor into its pad on the rig floor steel. 1-1/4 in. shown; the anchor maker's drawing governs.

Request a quote832-446-3442A generic land rig structure, not any maker's, contractor's or rig's design, and no API monogram or approval is claimed for it. The derrick height, base square, V-door and drawworks window openings and gin pole clearance follow the standard derrick size table; the structural bolts, nuts, washers and hole sizes follow ASTM F3125, ASME B18.2.6, ASME B18.2.2, ASTM F436 and AISC. Everything else is illustrative typical proportions: the leg, girt and brace sections, panels and gussets, the crown block, water table, gin pole and platform, the monkey board, ladder and cage, the substructure boxes, pins and keepers, rotary beams, deadline anchor, guy lines and deadmen. The drawworks, rotary table, travelling block and drilling line are plain outlines. Every count, and every size not named above, is typical. Your drawings govern. We manufacture to your drawings and specifications.
Drawn to the standard derrick size table (size 18A: 136 ft high, 30 ft base square), ASTM F3125 and ASME B18.2.6 (heavy hex structural bolts), ASME B18.2.2 (heavy hex nuts), ASTM F436 (hardened washers) and the AISC standard hole sizes, with the general arrangement following public descriptions of API Spec 4F drilling structures.
