Anchor and structural bolts, shackle pins, pump and motor hold-down bolts, flange studs and nuts, U-bolts and panel bolts, made in Houston to your drawings and specifications.
A pump and metering skid with a 4-inch Class 300 suction line and a 3-inch Class 300 meter run, on a steel base 12 ft 10 in. long, taken apart the way a crew strips one. At every flanged joint the nuts spin off first, then the joint opens with its studs and gasket in the gap: the two tie-in flanges, the meter run with its flow meter, control valve and block valve, then the suction line with its block valve and strainer. The strainer cover and the coupling guard come off, the pump and motor lift off their hold-down bolts, the baseplate and the pipe supports come off the frame, and last the frame lifts off its anchor bolts. The bolting we make is in colour. Press Solid view for a steel model, or Cutaway to see the suction line in section: pipe walls, flange joints, the strainer basket and the inside of the pump casing.
Twelve 3/4 in. anchor bolts cast into the foundation, two through each of six anchor plates under the main runners, each with a plate washer and a heavy hex nut. The plates are drilled 1-5/16 in., the AISC recommended hole for a 3/4 in. anchor rod.
Twenty-four 3/4 in. high-strength structural bolts (ASTM F3125, Grade A325) in 13/16 in. holes: four through the base plate of each pipe-support post, and eight through the lugs of the pump baseplate, each with a hardened washer and heavy hex nut under the beam flange.
A 7/8 in. bolt-type pin with a nut through each of the four lifting lugs, in a 3/4 in. shackle rated 4-3/4 tons. The whole skid is craned in on these.
Four bolts through the pump feet (5/8 in. holes, ASME B73.1 size 4 × 3 - 10) and four through the motor feet (17/32 in. holes, NEMA frame 284T), plus four jackscrews with jam nuts that move the motor to line up the shafts before the bolts are torqued.
Four bolts hold the guard down over the shaft coupling; out every time the alignment is checked.
Five joints on the 4 in. Class 300 suction line: eight 3/4 in. × 4-1/2 in. studs on a 7-7/8 in. bolt circle at each, with two heavy hex nuts apiece (ASME B16.5).
Twelve 7/8 in. × 5-1/2 in. studs on a 13 in. bolt circle clamp the NPS 8 Class 300 blind cover on the basket strainer; off at every basket clean-out.
Seven joints on the 3 in. Class 300 side: eight 3/4 in. × 4-1/4 in. studs on a 6-5/8 in. bolt circle at the pump discharge, the flow meter, the control valve, the outlet block valve and the outlet tie-in (ASME B16.5).
Four 1/2 in. U-bolts hold the lines down on the cap plates of the pipe-support posts, with a nut above and below the plate on each leg.
Four bolts hold the instrument panel on its two uprights, and four more hold the uprights down on the back runner.

The flanges, studs, gaskets, pipe, elbows and valve lengths follow the ASME standards named below; the pump and motor feet follow ASME B73.1 (size 4 × 3 - 10) and NEMA frame 284T; the beams are AISC W8×18, and the structural bolts, their holes and the anchor plate holes follow ASTM F3125, RCSC and AISC. The skid layout, the pump, motor, strainer, valve and instrument shapes, the pipe supports, lifting lugs and panel are illustrative typical proportions, and the counts and sizes of the anchor, structural, hold-down, guard, U-bolt and panel bolting are typical. Your drawings govern. We manufacture to your drawings and specifications.
Drawn to ASME B16.5 (Class 300 flanges and studs), B16.20 (spiral-wound gaskets), B36.10 and B16.9 (pipe and elbows), B16.10 (valve face-to-face lengths), ASME B73.1 (pump mounting dimensions), NEMA MG 1 (motor frame 284T), and AISC and RCSC with ASTM F3125 (structural steel, bolt holes and structural bolts).
