Shell manway and cleanout door bolts, nozzle and vent studs, roof manway and rafter bolts, stairway bolting and anchor bolts, made in Houston to your drawings and specifications.
A welded steel tank to API 650, 30 ft across and 32 ft high (about 4,000 barrels), with a fixed cone roof on rafters and a centre column. It opens up the way a crew does it at an out-of-service inspection: the nozzle nuts spin off and the piping pulls clear, then the shell manway covers, the flush-type cleanout door and the roof fittings come off. The roof plate is then shown lifted clear (in service it is welded down) so you can see the rafters unbolt from their clips; the stairway bolting and the anchor nuts come last. The bolting we make is in colour. Press Solid view for a steel model, or Cutaway to see the rafters, column and floor inside.
Twenty-eight ¾-inch bolts on a 30¼-inch bolt circle hold each 24-inch shell manway cover, the API 650 count. Off at every out-of-service inspection.
Thirty-six ¾-inch bolts round the door of the 24 × 24-inch cleanout at floor level: across the bottom flange, up the sides and over the arched top.
Class 150 flange studs on the 8-inch fill and suction nozzles (eight ¾-inch studs each), the 4-inch water draw-off and the 2-inch level connections.
Twenty ⅝-inch bolts on a 27½-inch bolt circle hold the 24-inch roof manway cover, opened for ventilation and access.
Eight ¾-inch studs on each 8-inch flanged roof nozzle, under the pressure-vacuum breather vent and the gauge hatch.
Bolt the sixteen roof rafters to clips inside the top of the shell and on the centre column cap.
Four bolts in every grating tread, plus the stringer brackets on the shell and the brackets under the top landing.
Cast into the ringwall and up through the anchor chairs, with a plate washer and heavy hex nut on each, against wind, earthquake and roof-pressure uplift.

The manway and cleanout bolting, the nozzle flanges and studs and the anchor spacing follow API 650 and ASME B16.5; plate thicknesses, the rafters, stairway, vent, gauge hatch and anchor chairs are illustrative, and their bolt counts and sizes are typical. Your drawings and the tank data sheet govern. We manufacture to your drawings and specifications.
Drawn to API Standard 650 (shell and roof manholes, flush-type cleanout, nozzles and anchorage), ASME B16.5 (Class 150 nozzle flanges and studs) and ASME B16.20 (gaskets).
