Tray clamps, panel seam bolts, tray manway studs, downcomer and weir bolting, shell manway studs and nozzle studs, made in Houston to your drawings and specifications.
A length of an 8 ft inside diameter distillation column with six single-pass valve trays at 24-inch tray spacing, opened up the way a turnaround crew works through the manway. The feed and draw-off flange nuts spin off and the lines pull back for blinding; the 24-inch shell manway cover eases off its studs and swings aside on its davit; the feed distributor unbolts; then the top three trays come apart from the top down: manway panel lifted, clamp and seam nuts off, deck panels up, weir and downcomer panels unbolted, truss off its bolts. The three lower trays stay bolted up. The fasteners we make are in colour. Press Solid view for a steel model, where the near quarter of the shell is left off once the manway is open so you can watch the trays, and Cutaway to section the shell, the trays, the downcomers and the nozzles.
Hold each tray to its support ring by friction: a 3/8 in. bolt down through the deck edge, a clamp hooked under the ring and a nut below, every 4 to 7 inches round the tray. About 35 sets a tray here.
Through-bolt each deck panel to its neighbour along the lapped seam over the integral truss, and to the inlet panel and the downcomer truss at its ends, no more than 7 inches apart.
A stud with an oval clamp washer and a nut at each end, round the removable manway panel in every tray, so the panel can be freed from above or from below.
Bolts the downcomer panels to the bolting bars welded to the shell, to the downcomer truss and to each other, no more than 6 inches apart, and holds the outlet weir in its slotted holes.
Bolt each end of the truss under the outlet edge of the deck to the bolting bars, with the nuts on the tray side. On larger towers the same bolting holds major beams and lattice trusses to their seats.
Twenty 1-1/4 in. studs on a 29-1/2 in. bolt circle clamp the 24-inch blind cover (ASME B16.5 Class 150, NPS 24), each with two heavy hex nuts. Opened at every turnaround.
The threaded hanger that carries the manway cover from the davit arm, and the pin that joins it to the lug on the cover.
Eight 3/4 in. studs on the NPS 6 feed nozzle and eight 5/8 in. studs on the NPS 4 draw-off, both Class 150.
Inside the shell: the bolts of the internal flange that joins the feed pipe to its nozzle, and the U-bolts that hold the distributor header down on its brackets.

Request a quote832-446-3442A generic 8 ft column, not any maker's or licensor's design. The shell manway, the nozzle flanges, their studs and their gaskets follow ASME B16.5 and B16.20 at Class 150. The 2-1/2 in. support ring, the 3/4 in. lap of tray on ring, the 3/8 in. minimum bolt size, the bolt and clamp spacings and the 15 × 18 in. minimum tray manway opening are published tray design figures. Everything else is illustrative, typical proportions: the shell plate, the tray layout and panel sizes, the trusses, weir and downcomer, the valve pattern, the feed distributor, the draw pan and the davit. Every hardware count is typical, and so is Type 410 hardware; the tray drawing sets the alloy. Your drawings govern. We manufacture to your drawings and specifications.
Drawn to ASME B16.5 (Class 150 flanges, blind cover and stud bolts), ASME B16.20 (spiral-wound gaskets) and ASME B36.10 (nozzle neck pipe), with the tray support ring width, the lap of tray on ring, the bolt size, the bolt and clamp spacings and the tray manway opening taken from tray makers' published design standards and a published project standard for tower internals.
