Cast Aluminum Bronze C95400
The general-purpose cast aluminum bronze — 85 ksi as cast, 95 ksi heat treated — for heavy-duty bushings, gears, valve seats and wear parts.
What C95400 Aluminum Bronze is.
C95400 is the most widely used cast aluminum bronze. With 11 percent aluminum and 4 percent iron it reaches 85 ksi tensile as cast and can be quench-and-temper heat treated to 95 ksi, giving it the strength for heavily loaded bushings, worm gears, valve seats and forming dies. Corrosion resistance in seawater and mild acids is excellent, and the alloy is non-sparking.
We machine C95400 components from certified B505 continuous-cast bar, as cast or heat treated (C95400HT).

What is C95400 aluminum bronze?
C95400 is a two-phase aluminum bronze whose iron addition refines the grain and adds strength. As cast it is already stronger than most bronzes; a quench from about 1600 °F followed by a temper transforms part of the structure and adds a further 10 ksi. It resists wear, galling and cavitation and holds up in seawater and many acids, though for the most aggressive marine service the nickel-bearing C95500 is preferred.
As-cast or heat treated?
Order the as-cast condition for bushings and general wear parts; order C95400HT where the extra yield strength and hardness are needed, such as dies, heavily loaded gears and valve seats. Both conditions are machined from the same B505 bar; the heat treatment is applied to the bar before machining.
Testing, certification and marking
- Tensile and hardness tested per lot on the finished product
- Grade or alloy marking by UNS number, condition and heat on the certificate and manufacturer's identification on every piece
- EN 10204 3.1 material test report with heat number and chemistry; 3.2 witness available
- Alloy identified by UNS number on the certificate
