Hastelloy X (UNS N06002)
The combustion-zone alloy — oxidation resistant to 2200 °F with good creep strength — for gas-turbine, furnace and afterburner hardware.
What Hastelloy X is.
Hastelloy X is a nickel-chromium-iron-molybdenum alloy that combines oxidation resistance to about 2200 °F with useful strength and creep resistance to 1600 °F and excellent fabricability. It has been the standard sheet and hardware alloy for gas-turbine combustors, transition ducts and afterburners for decades, and it resists carburising and nitriding atmospheres in industrial furnaces.
ASTM B572 covers the rod. We machine Hastelloy X fasteners and components from certified B572 rod.

What is Hastelloy X?
Alloy X is a solid-solution nickel alloy whose 22 percent chromium and 9 percent molybdenum give it a stable protective oxide and good hot strength without an ageing treatment, so it can be welded and formed freely and used to 2200 °F in oxidising atmospheres. It is not a corrosion alloy in the sense of C-276; its role is high-temperature structural and combustion hardware, where it is chosen over Inconel 600 for its higher strength and better resistance to hot-gas attack.
Testing, certification and marking
- Tensile and hardness tested per lot on the finished product
- Grade or alloy marking X with heat number and manufacturer's identification on every piece
- EN 10204 3.1 material test report with heat number and chemistry; 3.2 witness available
Inconel 718 (UNS N07718)
The premier high-strength nickel superalloy — 185 ksi tensile and 150 ksi yield from cryogenic temperatures to 1200 °F, with corrosion and sour-gas resistance to match.
ASTM B166 barInconel 600 (UNS N06600)
The general-purpose nickel-chromium alloy — oxidation resistant to 2000 °F, immune to chloride stress-corrosion cracking, for furnace, heat-treat and nuclear hardware.
ASTM B408 barIncoloy 800 / 800H / 800HT (UNS N08800 / N08810 / N08811)
The economical high-temperature alloy — 32 % nickel, 21 % chromium — for furnace, reformer and heat-exchanger hardware from 1000 to 1800 °F.
