ASTM F467 Nonferrous Nuts
The companion of F468: nuts in the same brass, bronze, copper-nickel, Monel, Inconel, Hastelloy, aluminium and titanium alloys, each with a proof stress for hex and heavy hex styles and a minimum hardness.
What F467 nonferrous nuts is.
ASTM F467 covers nuts in the nonferrous alloys of F468 so that a bolt and nut can be matched alloy for alloy. Each alloy has a minimum hardness and a proof stress for hex and hex flange nuts, with heavy hex, large flange and thick nuts rated 8 percent higher for their deeper thread engagement. Markings F467A through F467HT mirror the bolt markings.
We machine F467 nuts in every listed alloy, including the large, jam and special sizes stock does not cover, and supply them with matching F468 bolts and studs. Silicon bronze, naval brass and Monel nuts are regular work.

Matching nut and bolt alloys
Nonferrous joints are usually alloy-matched: a silicon bronze bolt gets a silicon bronze nut, a Monel stud a Monel nut. That keeps the two parts at the same point on the galvanic series and avoids the galling that dissimilar soft alloys can produce. Where a stronger nut is wanted on a softer stud, or a softer nut to protect an expensive stud, F467 lets the purchaser pick any listed alloy, and the proof stress table shows which combinations will develop the bolt's strength.
