Inconel 600 (UNS N06600)
The general-purpose nickel-chromium alloy — oxidation resistant to 2000 °F, immune to chloride stress-corrosion cracking, for furnace, heat-treat and nuclear hardware.
What Inconel 600 is.
Inconel 600 is a 72 percent nickel, 15 percent chromium, 8 percent iron alloy that is not age hardenable; its strength comes from solid solution and cold work. It resists oxidation and carburising atmospheres to about 2000 °F, is virtually immune to chloride-ion stress-corrosion cracking, and handles caustic and many organic acids.
ASTM B166 governs the bar. We machine Inconel 600 studs, bolts, nuts and components from certified B166 bar in the hot-worked or annealed condition.

What is Inconel 600?
Alloy 600 is the parent of the Inconel family: a nickel-chromium solid solution with enough iron to be economical. Nickel gives it resistance to reducing environments, chlorides and caustics; chromium gives oxidation resistance in air and sulfur-free atmospheres to about 2000 °F. It cannot be hardened by heat treatment, so strength depends on how it was worked: hot-worked bar carries 90 ksi, cold-worked bar over 100 ksi, annealed bar 80 ksi. It is the standard nickel alloy for furnace and heat-treatment hardware and for nuclear steam generators.
