What are tommy bar nuts?

A tommy bar nut is a round-bodied nut with holes drilled through its flanks: instead of swinging a wrench, the operator inserts a bar and levers the nut around. Where a diver, an ROV manipulator, or a hand in a blind space cannot swing a spanner, the tommy bar wins.
