Lock Nuts
Prevailing-torque and all-metal locking patterns.
Nylon-insert and all-metal prevailing-torque lock nuts that hold under vibration.

What are lock nuts?
Lock nuts add a prevailing-torque feature to the hex nut: a nylon collar or a deformed all-metal section grips the bolt thread so the nut stays put under vibration and load cycling. The resistance is built in — no washer, no chemical, no second nut.
- Nylon-insert (nyloc) for general service to ~250°F
- All-metal (top-lock, center-lock) for heat and reuse
- Heavy hex patterns for high-strength studs
- Every grade and finish we stock
Choosing the style
Nylon-insert is the economical general answer until temperature, chemicals or repeated reuse argue for all-metal. Above roughly 250°F, or in aggressive service, specify an all-metal prevailing-torque style — we will match the grade to your stud.
Other names
- Nyloc nuts
- Prevailing torque nuts
- Stover nuts (trade)
- Self-locking nuts
Tips for purchasing
- State temperature and reuse count — they pick the style.
- Prevailing torque adds to seating torque — account for it.
- Certs on request.
