What are turbine studs?
Turbine studs bolt casing halves and steam-path joints that soak at temperature between overhauls. They are machined — never formed — to the turbine maker's drawing: reduced shanks, precise fillets, center holes for elongation measurement, and materials chosen for stress relaxation resistance.
