A hex cap screw and a hex bolt look alike, but they are made to different tolerances. Cap screws have a washer face and tighter head and body dimensions under ASME B18.2.1, so they can be tightened by turning the head. Bolts are made to looser tolerances and are meant to be tightened at the nut. Heavy hex bolts carry a larger head for structural and pressure joints, and 12-point flange screws put full wrench engagement into tight counterbores.
We make every style here from bar in the grade your joint calls for, from SAE Grade 5 and 8 through A193 B7, B16 and the stainless and nickel alloys, with an EN 10204 3.1 certificate on every lot. Standard sizes or your drawing, imperial or metric.
