What are casing cap nuts?
A casing cap nut is a tall round nut that is closed at the top, with a smaller hex machined on the top face for the wrench. It threads down over the end of a casing stud, so the stud end is enclosed and the nuts can sit close together along the casing split. They are the row of round nuts you see along the joint of an axially split pump.
