2"-12 UN-2A Retaining Screw, manufactured from AISI 4140 alloy steel, delivering durability, precision fit, and dependable performance in demanding mechanical assemblies.
Special socket products are machined from bar where the specification allows, with the socket broached and the threads rolled, or cut where the specification or order allows, then heat treated and plated as the specification requires. Shoulder, low-head, flat-head and set-screw patterns follow ASME B18.3 unless the drawing says otherwise.
About the material: The workhorse Cr-Mo steel behind B7, L7 and Grade 7 — the bar stock for studs, shafts, couplings and any part that needs 100 to 150 ksi and good toughness. Read the 4140 data page →
