2-1/2"-12 UN-2B Tie Rod Tensile Nut Material: Premium AISI 4140 Features: Precision machined for a consistent, reliable fit and finished with Blue Xylan 1424 Teflon coating for enhanced corrosion resistance and smooth installation Built to the customer's specification.
Nuts are machined from bar or hex stock, tapped to the thread class specified, and heat treated where the grade requires it. Heavy hex, jam, castellated, cap, seal and coupling patterns are turned in-house, so special dimensions cost no more than standard ones.
About the material: The workhorse Cr-Mo steel behind B7, L7 and Grade 7 — the bar stock for studs, shafts, couplings and any part that needs 100 to 150 ksi and good toughness. Read the 4140 data page →
