3-1/2"-8 UN-3B hexagon cap nuts in ASTM A194 2H, machined on a Doosan 400 lathe from 6" OD bar with the hex milled. The nuts were then heat treated, tested and Xylan 1424 coated.
Nuts are machined from bar or hex stock, tapped to the thread class specified, and heat treated where the grade requires it. Heavy hex, jam, castellated, cap, seal and coupling patterns are turned in-house, so special dimensions cost no more than standard ones.
About the material: The standard heavy hex nut for A193 B7 studs — quenched and tempered carbon steel, 175 ksi proof load, 24 to 35 HRC. Read the A194 2H data page →
